the darjeeling limited

my friend bought me the dvd to this 2 days ago (4 days before its actually released on the 26th), and this movie is wonderful. probably 2nd or 3rd favorite Wes Anderson movie. first its the royal tenenbaums, then the darjeeling limited or rushmore (cant decide at the moment), the life aquatic, then bottle rocket.

the only problem i have with his movie is the fact that they have ipods, plasma tv's, and apple computers. in the rest of Wes Andersons movies its liek you cant tell when the movie is being filmed, you are hinted at what time period its in, except life aquatic... i have no idea when that movie supposed to be in. like in the royal tenenbaums, it seems like it could be in teh 1970's but there is a scene at a grave yard that has the date on a grave that says 2001... or 2000 i dont remember. so you know then... but your still like wowie! when is this movie supposed to be filmed in?! i know this inst a big deal in his movies, i just always think about it when im watching them.

iphone

Photobucket

recently got an iphone. and i must say ... it is quite a wonderfull little cellphone. so much better than my old phone (although i do miss my little white samsung phone... so many good memories...). now i have the ability to be a complete douche bag and wall up to people who dont have an iphone and be like "oh your phone has buttons? my iPhone doesnt require buttons. faggot." or " hey cool phone. oh you press buttons? i guess thats cool you know... if yoru from 1995. fag.", or just "(whip out iphone pretend to talk to someone, wait for them to notice, when they do say..) o yea, its an iphone... got it about a week ago. do you have one? (wait for answer.. if no...) hahah o so you have a "buttoned" phone. what a faggot (walk away laughing and continuing fake conversation on iphone)". oo i cant wait!!

although today my little iphone decided to freeze and then when i connected it on its little dock on my computer, then it says, deleting iphone. i am quite angry right now. and since my schools internet is slow as fuck, its taken about 3 hours for my iphone update to get to a little over half way. once it finally downloaded, my schools internet, again sucking dick, decides to not let itunes work. so for ahout 30 minutes i couldnt get my iphone to re sync and restart. so much anger.

but i am relieved to know that the iphone has added all my contacts and all that onto my computer...so i dont need to do put all the numbers back in all over again. that would have angered me even more.

all in all though ... i love the iphone. i dont see how you could hate it. the thing is beautifully designed, you have the entire internet, an ipod, has multi-touch technology, and itunes store incase you feel like buying an album on the go ... i doubt i will use this ... but its neato anyways. so awesome.

also, gundam 00 is getting even more awesome than it was before. such a good series, i hope it stays like this through out the entire series.

Chrono Trigger

Photobucket

recently i started playing Chrono Trigger on this SNES emulator my friend gave me last year. i must say this game is as good as people have said it is. the game is just amazing and im only 5 hours into it. the action is good, the story is good so far, teh time traveling is really an awesome idea and the graphic, compared to todays graphics ... theyre shit, but compared to games of the time, theyre pretty good. the games characters were also designed by Akira Toriyama (created dragon ball). back in like 6th or 7th grade, when i was really super into dragon ball Z, i bought a video game magazine that had a review of Chrono Trigger for the PS1, and i saw the character designs and i was like ... holy fuck... i need to play this game...but i never got around to it. i definitely missed out on an amazing game.

i love playing old rpgs... or old rpgs remade. like final fantasy III DS... one of my favorite final fantasy games. not the most intriguing story or anything like that, but it makes up for it in teh graphics, game play, job system, and graphics. i played the original one on an NES emulator, but it was pretty shitty. im glad that squar-enix decided to remake the game and actually give teh characters names and shit. but yea... i really like rpgs, even though im probably not really good at them, i still love them.

square-enix needs to remake chrono trigger for the DS or something .. i dont know why they havent made a remake of such an awesome game yet.

o .. how i miss the old toonami...

Photobucket

toonami, the action cartoon block on cartoon network, back in 1998-2003 was awesome. in 1998 i saw my first taste of anime which was sailor moon (gay... i know... but the show was awesome at the time), robotech (awesome show), and transformers. dragon ball z was on toonami at the time ... but i didnt watch it. i lived in st louis at the time and didnt have cartoon network... but i would go to my dads every other month and would visit for 6-8 weeks over the summer time, and my dad had cartoon network... and i would watch sailor moon and robotech every day and i would also watch it at my grandma and grandpas for they had satellite...
(the picture above is from sailor moon S... which never aired in america... but the girl with the green hair and blonde haired one with short hair are lesbians...)

but i was just wikipedia-ing things and found the list of toonami line ups for every year its been on tv. and had a very nostalgic moment remembering all the moments of running home each day to watch dragonball z in middle school... sitting at my dads over the summer watching sailor moon and robotech and being like .. this animation is amazing .. who... where did this come from (i realize now that the animation is horrible... but at the time id never seen anything like it before).

Photobucket
also remembering watcing gundam wing in 6th or 7th grade, and hating the show for there being too much talking in alot of episodes... but loving the animation and gundams. this was my first gundam show ... along with most peoples, and i remember being extremely excited for the show... telling my mom and my brother how excited i was and couldnt wait for the day cartoon network aired it.

Photobucket
also durring the time gundam wing was on tenchi muyo, tenchi universe and tenchi in tokyo aired on toonami... which at the time i loved also. i saw the tenchi muyo movie "tenchi in love" on the sci fi channel one morning in like 1998... and i again was like ... what the ... this is amazing! where is this from ... how is it so well animated ... again i now realize that the show wasnt really animated that well... but it was my first taste of a "harem" show... which is basically a show where a single guy has like alot girls who want him, but he doesnt know who to choose or he wants one of the girls he cant get or w/e ... these shows suck most of the tiem except for school days ... which sucked up until the last episide where the main character gets hacked up and destroyed ... lots of blood.

Photobucket
oo and also watching gundam 08th MS team on cartoon network ... o god ... i loved every moment of this series. i still do. its my favorite gundam show.. then its turn A gundam, 0083, 0080... and then probably zeta( 0083, 0080 also aired on toonami.. but on its mid night block ... which was awesome). but 08th MS team was teh show that started me on collecting anime dvds. when i bought my first dvds and i was so excited to watch them un edited... ( more boobs and blood ... hurray!). another series that i watched that sparked my interest in owning the owning of dvds was .hack//sign.. which aired the same year and was teh show that got me interested in MMORPG's. after watching the show when final fantasy XI came out for the PC i bought it and ... didnt play it for liek 4 months ... but when i started .. i didnt stop for like 2 years.... i had no life...

in 2003 toonami had a week long thing called "giant robot week" and they aired the first 2 episodes of evangelion... and i canceled everything i had to do those 2 days it was on. i loved that show ... and it is probably one of... if not my favorite anime ever. so good. except ... since it was on at liek 3pm, it was edited and was made less great b/c of that. i did not care tho... i still loved watching it. (evangelion was the 3rd series i decided to collect...)

....

other shows i loved and watched every episode were:
-blue sub no. 6 (so good)
-outlaw star (used to watch every day it was on and on the midnight block)
-G gundam (meh...)
-big o (good... but confusing)
-mobile suite gundam (the episodes that aired... it was canceled b/c of 9/11... quite gay)
-thunder cats (came on a couple times on toonami i believe)

but yea ... i miss the old toonami... so many good memories...

persepolis and toki wo kakeru shoujo

-persepolis-

Photobucket
just saw persepolis tonight, and it is quiet wonderful. the movie is so well animated itsits amazing that its all hand drawn ... every bit of it.. which makes me extremely ... extremely pleased. im tired of all these stupid piece of shit CG animated movies that arn't pixar (they're the only CG animation company i like ... and i liked shrek... but thats all i liked from dreamworks). but i suppose that with all the stupid crap CG animated movies out it makes a movie like persepolis even better and more pleasing to watch knowing that each frame is done by a human hand and not a lame computer program. although the movie was really good, i still enjoyed the comic more... there was just more in it and went into more detail with the characters and her life... but thats to be expected of a 90 minute movie based on a 300+ page comic.

-toki wo kakeru shoujo-

Photobucket

this movie is quite good. the movie awesomely animated, good story, great characters, good pace and fluid story telling, and the character designer is Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, the character designer for evangelion, FLCL, diebuster and gurren lagann... which is wonderful b/c his characters are always awesomely done. the first time i watched this movie back in June i was blown away by it that i watched it like 3 or 4 more times after that. while i was in paris during a photography study abroad program, i saw posters for teh movie everywhere... i really wanted to see it there... but i only saw it at one theater near arc de triumph .. and it would have been in french and i wouldnt of known what they were saying. why doesnt america do that with anime movies liek this? they do it with miyazaki movies... which are fucking amazing... but there are also anime movies that are amazing that get here and never get to be in movie theaters... o well...

Photobucket

i believe all should watch and enjoy both of these movies.

new art, gundam, and evangelion 1.0

i was really bored today and didnt feel like reading 200 pages of this book i was supposed to... so i did an illustration...

Photobucket

hurray!

i also got to do my schools knitting club flier (my room mate is the president ...)
Photobucket

yay!

on another note... on gundam 00 there were 3 new gundams and gundam Meisters were introdused in episode 15 and 17 (16 was a recap... quite lame). the new gundams and meisters are pretty sweet and dont give a shit about human life. i have a feeling that they will not be good guys for long, well there not really good guys right now ...

and im sure they wont be good b/c in the opening animatin it shows the original 4 gundams being shot at by red blast of GN particals... which is what the new gundams shoot and use to fly and such.

ahh yes... i also watched the Evangelion 1.0: you are not alone the other night.... and it was fucking amazing. such awesome animation, and the CG was integrated so well i had to remind myself that it was CG and not hand drawn. this is truely how eva should have been. the one thing that i find awesome about the movie is the that (i think) it takes place after 3rd impact in The End of Evangelion. due to the fact that the 1. the water is red liek blood like at the end of end of evangelion. 2. there is a huge outline in the shape of an Eva (part of the eva series i would thinK) on a hill thats stained red like the water. 3. there is a huge blood stain on the moon with a life form that looks like Lilith in central dogma... but its not ... its the 6th eva ( a new eva which will be in the 2nd movie) under construction which will be piloted by kaworu.. who is also on the moon... its a weird thing thats going on there ... you find this out in the preview for the next movie after the credits... you also find out about the new EVA unit 05 and a new character.. possibly the pilot of this new EVA?? 4. kaworu basically says that the "3rd" (Shinji) hasnt changed and is looking forward to meeting him... basically hinting that Shinji hasn't changed since the last time.... hurray!

also the new colors on the Eva's is pretty awesome.

... also the way that the 6th angel (in the series the 5th angel) transforms and fires its blast of ..w /e it is ... is fucking amazing and beautifully done. and it was nice touch to put the high pitched scream from the space monster in diebuster in the movie for when the 6th angel fires its blast and shit... sounds so awesome. (the 6th angel is seen in the video above .. .its the big blue diamond thing)
